about experiences in the nursing school

Hi, everyone! How are you, today?
I'm so-so because I caught a cold this weekend...

The other day, I went to a nursing school in Osaka for 2 days. I went there to have the working experience and fulfill the requirement for getting a teacher's license. So, that was obligatory for everyone who wants to be a teacher in the future.

In spite of my unwillingness I had at first, this experience became really enjoyable later:-)

On the first day, I lost my way to the nursing school though I went there with my friend. (Fortunately, we found the way soon and reached in time.) Moreover, it was rain and very cold... In spite of such bad weather, there were no heaters in the room for the university students (who came to have the working experience like me).

Anyway, all students tooks charge of the class (from the class of elementary students to the class of high school studants, and stdents in the school have mental retardation). I took charge of an elementary student's class with 2 more students from the same university.

As soon as we visited the class and met 3 teachers in the class, we were asked to help students. At first, we were very confused because we didn't know how to help them. So, we just watched them and talked to them at first. In classes, we did a lot of things! Like usual school, there were many subjects like P. E., mass, Japanese, home economics etc. Students jumped rope, ran a arathon, studied how to count or how to make aprons. We also join these activities and sometimes helped the students. Through these activities, I felt the distance between students and university students like me became closer ^ - ^ Even in recess, we were with students and spend time with them. So, it didn't take so much time to be friend with them★

Some elementary students couldn't communicate well with the language or the words, but they and I could communicate with other communication tools like eye contact, gesture, body language, or touching the body ^ - ^ They showed me a lot of emotions through the communication. Through the communication with them, I thought this kind of communication is more important than that with the language though many people tend to depend too much on it.

Moreover, I realized that students in the nursing school were very pure and more childlike than ordinary elementary school students. I feel present children tend to lose their chance to express clearly their feelings than before. Present children feel more stress and pressure from people, especially parents or adults, around them, and they might try to protect themselves from the stress or pressure and hide their true feelings... So they looks more like adult than children, I think. Don't you think it is a sad situation?! However, children I met in the nursing school seemed to express their true feelings more and looks more fresh or bright! I believe children like them are real children.

I experienced a lot with students in the nursing school and learned a lot from them★ However, above all, I'm really happy that I could spend time with children and make a lot of memories though it is only for 2 days♪ That 2 days I spend time with them in the nursing school became really enjoyable for me *^ - ^*
I'd like to visit the school if I can have the chance like this time♪

Thank you,
Megumi K :- )

about Christmas decorations

Hi, how r u? I'm so-so, because I still have a headach...
However, I believe I will feel better if I sleep well :- )

Yesterday, I saw a house with the Christmas decorations on my way home ●^ - ^●I went back to my house late and it had got very dark. So, I could notice the illuminated house.

The house was illuminated with a lot of colored light, for example, red, blue, yellow, white etc. The colored light was also decorated like the Christmas tree! It was very very beautiful > _ < I guess that in that house, there must be a Christmas tree with beautiful decorations. Humm... That sounds nice! Decorating a house seems interesting and enjoyable♪ I want to try that *> _ < * Don't u think so?!
Anyway, I really enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations, but unfortunately, I couldn't look at the house for a long time. That is because if I stay in front of the house and look at for a long time, others must regard me as a strange person...

I remember having seen the beautifully decorated house last year. In addition, last year, I saw some houses with beautiful Christmas decorations. So, I expect that I will see more houses with beautiful Christmas decorations and enjoy looking at them more *^ - ^*
I'm looking forward to it♪

Looking at the house with the Christmas decoration, I felt Christmas comming.

Bye-bye,
Megumi K ;- )

about playing tag

Hello, u all♪ How are you, today? I have headache, but I'm fine :- )

These days, many people around me caught cold and they seem to feel bad :- ( That's bad!
In addition, the dangerous influenza is about to spread all over the world! So, please take care of yourself (your health), and don't forget to gargle your throat and to wash your hands★

Anyway, let's return to the topic "playing tag."
Today, I played tag with my classmates as one of the activities in a class of the teaching course.
The object of playing tag in class is to improve the communication skill, I guess. Of course, through playing with other classmates, students can have the good relationship with other classmates who they usually don't talk with.

It was fine today, so today was a good day for playing tag♪
There were only about 13-15 students today in the class, so each of us could join more actively in the playing tag.
We played some kinds of playing tag like "hankachi otoshi (or, dropping the handkerchief)" and "kei doro (or, police and the thieves)." We played outside, so we could move freely. However, at the same time, it meant that the tagger (oni) had to run a lot to catch others and others had to run more to escape from the tagger > _ <;! Although everyone looks very tired after playing tag, all of us could be very excited and enjoyed playing very much♪

I hadn't played tag for a long time, so I really enjoyed it *^ ω ^*
Also, I'm happy to be more friendly with my classmates through playing together★
I want to say "THANK YOU!" to the teacher who gave us, students such a great opportunity to make the good relationship m(- _ -)m "Thank you♪"

Thank u,
Megumi K :- )

about chocolates

Hey, u all! Here comes "the season of the chocolate"♪

Winter is the best season to enjoy chocolates ●>∀<●
That is mainly because in every winter, many confectioneries like Lotte, Meiji etc. produce and sell a lot of new chocolate confectionery. The more closer winter comes, the more chocolate confectionery are displayed on the shelves at the convenience stores and the supermarkets.
Therefore, the more closer winter comes , the more I feel like chocolates when I go shopping.

As for kinds of chocalate confectionery, there are a lot of kinds of chocolate confectionery, for example, cookies, pie, chocolate bar, and "pockey" etc. with various nuts like macadamia nuts and almonds. I love chocolates with macadamia nuts, and I eat it every winter♪

Moreover, in winter, there are a lot of chocolates of various taste (flavor), for examples, banana, caramel, milk tea etc. These days, there are also chocolates with Japanese taste like green tea, annko (Japanese bean paste), kinako (soybean flour), black sesame, black bean, and so on.
I recommend you to try kinako or black sesame pockey *^ ω ^* They seem to be strange, but they actually are very delicious! I think chocolates and Japanese tastes are great combination★
I want to try new taste this winter, too. If you try new chocolate, please tell me your reaction. And if you have your favorite chocolate or find delicious chocolates, please tell me♪

Thanks to its variety of types and taste, you can find your favorite chocolate even if you don't like seets. So, try chocolate once *^ ω ^*

p.s. I like hot chocolate for drink in winter, too!

See ya,
Megumi K :-)

about going to eat yaki-niku

Hello. How are you :-) ? I'm happy♪

On thisThursday (yesterday), I went to eat yaki-niku (grilled meat) with my friends♪ It was my first time to go to eat yaki-niku with my friends☆ I was looking forward to it very much because my friends and I planned to go to eat yaki-niku long ago ^ - ^
On that day, I had 5th period, so I had to keep my friends wait. As soon as my class was over, we went to the yaki-niku restaurant. I wondered we could eat yaki-niku soon after we arrived at the restaurant because it was already dinner time. However, there wes only one group there, so I was relieved:-) The group celebrated someone's birthday with the birthday cakes☆ But, it was a surprise party and a girl who was celebrated was surprised very much and cried. My friends and I felt happy :-)

We ordered tabe-houdai menu, so we could eat as much as we like for 2,200 yen for 90 minutes at the reataurant. At the reastaurant, the menu (meat, vegitables, and other food) we could order for tabe-houdai were limited... :-( Although we could not order many kinds of meat and other foods, we ordered a lo of meat. We ate sirloin, pork loin, tongue, pork toro, chicken, and Vienna sausage. Moreover, we ate rice and soup. My friends and I really ate a lot and everyone became full until 60 minutes passed. However, we ate the water ice as the dessert! lol. They were really cool and delicious ◎^-^ ◎
We really enjoyed grilling meat and vegetables and eating them a lot!!! I want to go to eat yaki-niku with my friends again soon ^ - ^☆★☆

See ya,
Megumi K:-)

about my choice about studying abroad

Hi, u all ^ - ^ How r u today?
These days, I started to think about my future more seriously than before★

That is because these days, many classmates or friends of mine took tests for studying abroad. Most of them think seriously about their future and decide or plan to study abroad. Their serious attitude about their future made me realize I also have to think about my future (including about whether I should study abroad or not) more seriously!
I don’t plan to study abroad now.
When I entered the university, I expected that I would study abroad for a year (around 10 months). However, my mind has been changing these days.

One of the reasons is that I take both English and Japanese teaching courses to get the teacher’s certificates. It seems to be difficult for people who take the teaching course to study abroad, because to get teacher’s certificates, students have to take a lot of extra classes and it takes much time. If students who want to be teachers study abroad for a long time, it will be very difficult to catch up on their study and get teacher’s certificates with others who don’t study abroad and keep studying to become teachers. They (= people who study abroad) might have to stay the university one more year at the worst. I don’t want to do so.

In addition, I don’t think I can make my experiences of studying abroad fruitful because I don’t have clear purpose or goal for studying abroad now. If students have clear purpose or goals (for example, “I want to study about business!” or “I want to have knowledge about hospitality!”), they will make efforts to study and learn a lot there and their experiences of studying abroad will be very beneficial. I don’t criticize people whose purpose is not clear like “I want to learn something important through studying abroad!” Of course, students might learn something important there, but I don’t think that is a proper goal of studying abroad. Studying abroad requires more active or positive attitude toward studying and learning. Without clear purpose, I expect, it must be difficult for students to be positive and their experiences of studying abroad will be meaningless and in vain. For these reasons, I do not want to study abroad until I have clear purpose of that.

Studying abroad must be interesting and attractive, but I don’t have enough time and clear purpose:-(
Choosing to study abroad need the courage, but choosing not to do so also need it (don’t u think so?!) Even now, I’m not sure whether my choice that I don’t study abroad now is correct or not, but I want to go the way I believe “it must be the best for me now” :-)

Thanks,
Megumi Kakimoto:-)
