about my hometown,Fukui

Hi, you all!

I’ll talk about my hometown, Fukui.
Especially, I’ll tell you about the nature of Fukui today.

Fukui is next to Kyoto and Ishikawa, and it belongs to Hokuriku area.
Although Fukui is the countryside, it means there are a lot of natures there at the same time. For example, there are a lot of mountains, fertile plains, and rice fields. Also, it faces to the Sea of Japan.

In summer, it is a little hard for people to live in Fukui because we have a lot of rainy days and summer in Fukui is very soggy. However, winter in Fukui is really great, I think.
In winter, it snows every year in Fukui, and people should remove the snow by using snow shovel every morning. When we have heavy snow, we often see the snowplows removing the snow on the road. Having a lot of snow is not always good, but I like snow very much! When I was a child, my sisters and I often played with snow in winter. For example, we did snowball fight with children who live near my house. Also, we made kamakura with snow. Kamakura is like small dome that is made of the snow. In addition, we made the snow slopes with our father and slid from the top of the slope. It was really fun and exciting play for me!

I love Fukui very much! I believe that Fukui is worth visiting for you all:-)

about living alone in Osaka

Today, I will tell you about my first experience to live alone in a strange place.

Now, I live alone because I go to a university in Osaka that is a long way from my hometown, Fukui. I had never lived in other places until I moved to Osaka about one year ago, so my first experience to live alone is going on now.

When I started to live alone last year, I had a lot of difficulties. At first, I did not know about the places near my apartment building at all, so it was difficult to buy something I needed for daily life or something I wanted, for example, perishable food like fresh vegetables and meat, clothing, and medicine. However, as time went by, I got used to living alone there and started to know about local places.

I still have some difficulties to live alone. For example, even if I’m sick or very busy, I have to do housework by myself and it is very hard for me. In addition, it is still difficult a little for me to cook because I’m not good at cooking and because I need much time to cook than others. Also, choosing the menu of the day is a little difficult for me because my repertories of the menu (cooking) are not so much. Does anyone tell me the recipes for menu that is easy to cook?

Although I still have some difficulties, I’m enjoying my life in Osaka.

Well, that’s all for today.
Thank you!

My first post

Welcome to my blog! Nice to meet you all :-)

Now, I’ll introduce myself to you.

My name is Megumi Kakimoto from Japan.

My hobbies are listening to music, drawing pictures, watching movies, and reading.
I like Japanese-pop music very much. My favorite musicians are GLAY, Chemistry, Spitz, and so on. I also like Enya, Carpenters, Stacie Orrico, and Backstreet Boys.
When I was a junior high school student, I was a member of art club. For this reason, I used to paint in oils, draw sketches of my friends, and see a lot of paintings of famous artists on collections of paintings. As for paintings, I like the paintings in oils that were painted by Impressionists, such as Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet. Their paintings are full of blaze and so beautiful!
As for movies, I love watching romantic movies and emotional movies. I often watch foreign movies.
As for books, I love reading picture books and fairy tales :->

I’m interested in various kinds of things, especially; I take great interest in traveling abroad. I have been to Australia before. However, I hardly have been abroad. I don’t have information about countries all over the world except Japan, so I want to get much information about any countries in the world from you for the future. If you have any information about any countries (for example, where you recommend to visit for sightseeing and why) and you can tell me about that, please tell me.

Thank you,
Megumi Kakimoto:-)
